The Business Study focuses on technology influencers and users who have involvement in the purchase of technology related products or services for themselves at work, for others in their organization, or on behalf of a client.
The scope of information reported includes readership of technology and general interest magazines, as well as viewership of cable networks and TV programs. Information provided on purchase involvement and product consumption includes: systems; software; printers and peripherals; networking and telecom equipment; and tech services. In addition, the study covers demographics, firmographics, and attitudinal data.
In order to qualify as a business influencer a respondent must participate in one of the following activities regarding computer-related products or services or information technology:
- Determining the need to purchase
- Determining features needed or specifying technical requirements
- Evaluating or specifying products or services for purchase
- Evaluating or specifying where to buy
- Authorizing or approving expenditures
- Recommending products for purchase
OR - Having input into which specific types or brands of computer-related or information technology products or services are purchased for their use at work
